Our Unit
Our Unit has been around for over 25 years.
Orginally operating out of Papakura army
camp, we are now sharing facilities with the
Highwire Charitable Trust.
During 2024 we celebrated our organisation's
160 years of service to New Zealand. This makes us one of the longest running organisations in New Zealand.
With a roll of 30+ Cadets (and growing) we are kept busy every term with weekend events and activities.
The Unit Commander is in overall control of all training and activities with the support of Qualified Officers.
A Committee from the local Communty also Supports the Unit and our Finances.
Primarily a non profit youth organisation we also have
assistance from the Defence Force and local community support.

As a Proud Cadet Unit from Papakura, South Auckland. We are identified with our own uniqe Unit crest.
-
The 4 stars represent the Southern Cross.
-
The "Maunga" (Mountain) represents "Pukekiwiriki" more commonly known as Red Hill. Which is situated near our cadet unit.
-
The "Manaia" which is the Central figure, represents the "Tauira" meaning our cadets.
